Le Smart City rappresentano sistemi complessi basati sull’integrazione di Big Data, IoT e Digital Twin, ottimizzando la gestione urbana attraverso modelli predittivi e simulazioni in tempo reale. Secondo la cibernetica del secondo ordine, la Smart City può essere intesa come uno spazio-rete i cui dati possono essere discretizzati in vettori. Vengono presentati alcune tecnologie abilitanti per la progettazione dei Digital Twin, il data mining e la modellazione di reti neurali (artificiali). Nel City Digital Twin, convergono tutti i metodi presentati: il multi-vettore urbano si compone sia di vettori materici che dinamici con un passaggio dalla metafisica ad una visione olistica. Collegati al Product Lifecycle Management, permettono una gestione efficiente dell’ambiente costruito, mentre il data mining e il sensemaking supportano decisioni strategiche, specialmente in scenari critici.
